Wes, I wholeheartedly agree with your position on parking. Thank you for being supportive of our small businesses (other than very much enjoying their food and being supportive of small
businesses in general, I have no vested interest in Ellie Mae’s but want to see them succeed).
Best,

Thank you, Mr. Jenkins. I agree with all three of your stated positions on the roundabout, taxes and the parking regulations.
However, I do think that the parking regulations on all businesses could be relaxed, but at a minimum we should provide specific like Ellie Mae’s an exception if we can’t agree with
an across the board parking standard reduction.
Respectfully,

Dear Mayor and City Council Members,
Unfortunately, I have to work evenings this week, else I would be at the meeting tomorrow night. As a former Chair of the Board of Adjustment and member of P&Z, I have a demonstrated
interest in how the City is run. I would like to provide my thoughts on several items on this agenda.
First, please have a vote to oppose the roundabout. Even at a more normal intersection, a roundabout seldom solves anything in he United States (other countries seem to adapt better;
not so much here). At that particular intersection it will create chaos. What we have could be cleaned up somewhat but works well.
Second, I have seen no real justification for any significant tax increase. The City has long differentiated itself from Cocoa Beach by being fiscally responsible. Sadly, this seems
not to have been the case recently and I would like to see us return to living within our means.
And, to me, most importantly. I am a big fan of having adequate parking spaces at businesses; that said, many of our businesses are in older buildings that did not provide large numbers
of parking places and offer no easy solution to adding more. In an odd way, the plays into the City’s stated goal of encouraging bicycling and walking. In particular, I would oppose
any sanctions or penalties on Ellie Mae’s … the current establishments is such a huge improvement over what was there before. It is a quiet, local place with great food and terrific
people. I have never seen any major issues with parking and many of us bike there. Peg employees a significant number of people who very much appreciate the job. We frequently make
exceptions for other establishments (Southern Charm, for instance) so I see no need to enforce a rather archaic regulation at the expense of outstanding small business.
Thank you for your consideration,
-dj

TUESDAY: Council Meeting with a Resolution on the Roundabout
The Council will decide to VOTE on a Resolution that can indicate whether the city officially SUPPORTS OR OPPOSES the A1A Roundabout.
There is a lot to discuss on Tuesday with a Budget Workshop (with a proposed tax increase) and Council Meeting with 28 agenda items including Small Business Parking Regulations, Tree
Removal, R1 Lot Split, Golf Carts, and more!
Participate with Public Comment Online or In-Person!
Hello Dennis,
Reminder -- There is a Budget Workshop (with a proposed tax increase) at 5:00pm followed by our Regular Council Meeting at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, August 16th at City Hall.
During the Regular Meeting, there is an Agenda Item where your Council will decide if we want to VOTE on a Resolution that takes an official position SUPPORTING or OPPOSING the Roundabout
as part of the A1A Redevelopment Plan from FDOT. This is item number 17 on the Agenda.
I have been open with my position of the Roundabout. I oppose it. I cannot speak for the rest of the Council. FDOT has been very helpful through this process and they have communicated
that they are “open to listening to alternate solutions or design modifications that alleviate concerns and will achieve the same goals <https://wesmorrison.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=846a34
63f5e6cf501c93ca7a5&id=31ddae29a2&e=a2e68ce6c0> ” so I believe that they will continue to work with the citizens of Cape Canaveral to find a solution that achieves our goal for a safer
A1A.
What can you do to provide your opinion on the Roundabout?
1.
SHARE this information with your neighbors.
2.
EMAIL your Council Members at CouncilMembers@CityofCapeCanaveral.org <mailto:councilmembers@cityofcapecanaveral.org> to tell them your opinions on whether you want our City to take
an official position with a resolution on supporting or opposing the roundabout. Even if you have done this in the past, please do it again.
3.
ATTEND the meeting on Tuesday Night. You can attend in-person or online <https://wesmorrison.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=846a3463f5e6cf501c93ca7a5&id=e81052eb3d&e=a2e68ce6c0>
.
4.
*MOST IMPORTANTLY: PROVIDE PUBLIC COMMENT! You can do this in-person or online at the meeting by filling out a comment card. If you do not wish to speak at the podium, you can still
fill out a comment card and then “wave in support or opposition” when your turn comes. If you can’t make the meeting, you can also submit Public Comment to be read into the record before
NOON on Tuesday by emailing your comment to: CityClerk@CityofCapeCanaveral.org <mailto:CityClerk@CityofCapeCanaveral.org>
This may be the last opportunity for you to provide your feedback on whether or not you feel that the City of Cape Canaveral Council should take action with a Resolution that SUPPORTS
or OPPOSES the A1A plan with the Roundabout.
Click Here to Email Your Council Members whether you want a Resolution that SUPPORTS or OPPOSES the Roundabout <mailto:councilmembers@cityofcapecanaveral.org>
Prepare yourself. Tuesday’s Council Meeting will be a long one with the Budget Workshop at 5:00 and a 28-Agenda Item Regular Meeting starting at 6:00.
Also, our proposed draft budget is the highest I have ever seen, and there is a proposed tax increase that I do not support. If you believe we should increase taxes or oppose this increase
please come speak up at the 5 pm meeting or email the entire council at CouncilMembers@CityofCapeCanaveral.org <mailto:CouncilMembers@CityofCapeCanaveral.org> .
I plan to open the meeting with Public Comment time for ALL TOPICS to ensure that citizens have a chance to speak.
Other Important Topics on the Agenda Include:
*
Parking Regulations Impacting Small Businesses
*
Oak Tree Removal at the New Community Center
*
Monthly Fees for the Community Center
*
R1 Lot Split
*
Golf Carts and Golf Cart Studies costing roughly $28,000.
