WHEREAS, George and Adeline Jenkins settled in Fort Gaines, Georgia
where they acquired a large portion of land, and their offspring were born;
and
WHEREAS, early in the 1820's, in North Carolina, in these United
States of America, George and Adeline's offspring recognized the important
need to hold a family reunion every two years; and
WHEREAS, they decided to hold the reunions in different states and
cities, in order to keep families together and for them to learn of each other:
keeping the Jenkins' family pride; and
WHEREAS, six years ago, in 2016, the family reunion was held in the
City of Cape Canaveral and almost 200 members were in attendance; and
WHEREAS, on July 7, 2022 through July 10, 2022, the Jenkins family is
expecting just over 100 family members to attend the reunion in the City of
Cape Canaveral; and
WHEREAS, this year, Cloe Gaines and Darlene Dixon are the Jenkins
Reunion Co -Chairs, and have dedicated their time to making it a memorable
occasion.
NOW THEREFORE, 1, Wes Morrison, Mayor of the City of Cape
Canaveral, Brevard County, Florida, hereby acknowledges the July 7-July 10,
2022 Jenkins Family Reunion and remind all to remember:
"IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE MANNER, THE FAMILY IS
LINKED TO OUR PAST, BRIDGE TO OUR FUTURE"
