The Building Department has been charged with the responsibility
of surveying the City to determine if the street address numbers
on buildings comply with Section 509.11, Numbers to be Post~~L
Dim~ns ions-.L_Co lora~ion., of the City Code of Ordinances.
"Numbers indicating the official numbers for each principal
building shall be posted in a manner to be clearly visible and
distinguishable from the street on which the property is located.
Such numbers shall be a minimum of three (3 ) inches in height and
one-half (1/2) in width and of a contrasting color with the
building."
The Ordinance was adopted in 1985 as a safety measure so that
Police and Fire personnel responding to a call would be able to
easily identify the building/address they were looking for.
You are requested to post your property in accordance with the
guidelines described above. Failure to respond to this request
within twenty (20) days from the date of this letter will result
in an official notice of violation.
