Dave, please give this to Brenda, I don’t know her email address.
For clarification, the review (in the columns I added) of the Code Enforcement tab are as follows:
Basic Check (Parcel Number Format) looked at the City supplied parcel number format and checked against BCPA Format. Error! Means not valid
Second Check (CC Parcel Number to BCPA Database) looked at the City supplied Parcel Number and checked to see if it existed in BCPA database. Error! Means it was not found
Mapping Error looked to see if the City supplied Parcel Number was a valid account number. Fatal Error! Means nothing matches, otherwise a Valid Parcel Number or Clean is returned.
Combine Address/ Parcel Number with City, State and Zip to match BCPA then checked to see if using the address would bring back a valid Parcel Number from the BCPA database.
Corrected Record contains a valid Parcel Number or Fatal Error!
Writing the script and running the checks and making the corrections took 35 minutes. Running the script on all 8664 Parcels would take less than 35 minutes.
End result is 17% of the 468 parcels of the review data is Fatally Flawed, meaning with the information provided no logical repair could be made.
There are 8664 parcel numbers in the BCPA Database extraction.
If we consider the information provided by the Code Enforcement export to represent a sample of the Parcels tracked by the City, there are about 1470 records that are not repairable
with the information in the City’s database (at least the fields I was provided) and would require additional effort beyond cleaning, formatting and matching would be required.
I do not know if there are any other problems in the data brought in from the legacy system or if the legacy system was the source. The BCPA database is clean as expected.
