Also discussed how to control viruses when many patrons are working on the
computers. There may need to be more rules regarding patrons using their own
disks to try and control viruses. It was suggested some terminals should be
"stand-alones" that aren't network connected so if a patron was using word
processing type functions, they wouldn't be able to crash a whole system if they
introduced a virus.
B. Foundation Update
Foundation continues to grow. They have more board members.
C. Hurricane Shutters
Per Andrea Bowers, as of 1/11/00, no Brevard County library in the system has
applied for mitigation fund monies for hurricane shutters. Mrs. Escapa will bring
to Ms. Schweinsberg's attention that monies should be applied for by the County.
Special film for the windows will be provided for the library by the City of Cape
Canaveral, one way or another(whether Grant monies are received, or not). Ms.
Bowers also stated that Bennett Boucher, City Manager, will bring to the County
Library system's attention that Grant monies have not been applied for.
