COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD
WORKSHOP MEETING
OCTOBER 7, 1996
A Organizational Workshop Meeting of the Community Appearance Board of
the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, was held on October 7, 1 996 at the City
Hall Annex, 111 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral, Florida. The meeting was
called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairperson Hayes.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: September 26, 1996
Motion by Mr. Barzellato, seconded by Ms. Easter to approve the meeting
minutes of September 26, 1996. Vote on the motion carried unanimously.
Chairperson Hayes handed city staff and board members her own agenda.
Attorney Garganese advised that the Board could deviate from the City's
published agenda only by voting on each item they wished to add to the
agenda.

Chairperson Hayes introduced the city staff and board members for Ms.
Easter's benefit because she was absent at the last meeting. Ms. Easier gave
her personal background and work experience.
Chairperson Hayes explained that the schedule meetings in the month of
October would be workshop meetings then gave an overview of the last
meeting.
DISCUSSION:
At the request of Chairperson Hayes, Mr. Moran explained the different types
of zoning classifications and pointed out where they were located on the
City's zoning map.
The Board members had an ensuing discussion regarding: various types of
permissible uses; controlling growth and future land use; appearance and
style; overhead utility wires on Ridgewood Avenue; construction status of
the Sand Dunes Condominium project; creating a village square/central
meeting place; changing residential zoning to only allow single family; and
creating a city architectural style and color scheme plan.
Chairperson Hayes queried each Board member regarding what they liked and
did not like about the City. Each Board member voiced their personal
opinions.
Mr. Moran referenced Ordinance 16-95, Creating a Community Appearance
Board of the City Code and strongly suggested that the Board members
familiarize themselves with the ordinance which outlined their
responsibilities.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 P.M.
