COMPLIANCE HEARINGS:
1. Case No. 98-58, California Florida Corporation, (8590 N. Atlantic Ave), Section
14, Township 24 South, Range 37 East, Canaveral Beach Gardens, Block 3,
Lot 14.02, Brevard County, Florida— Violation of Section 34-97 Duties and
Responsibilities for Maintenance, in that the parking lot designated parking spaces
need to be re-striped, the required handicap parking space designated, marked,
and appropriate signage installed, front of the building cleaned/painted, hole in
facade repaired, and ground sign pole scraped and painted.
2. Case No. 98-60, Thomas & Helen Metee, (218 Jackson Ave), Section 23,
Township 24 South, Range 37 East, Avon-By-The-Sea, Block 13, (Brevard
County, Florida— Violation of Section 34-97 Duties and Responsibilities for
Maintenance, in that the property has an overgrowth of grass and weeds
exceeding the 6" height requirement, the swimming pool is in an unsafe,
unsanitary condition, the fence around the rear yard needs to be repaired/replaced,
the window on the east side of the building needs to be repaired and yard waste
accumulated in the front of the property removed.

23, Township 24 South, Range 37 East, Avon-By-The-Sea, Block 25, Lots 1-
4, Brevard County, Florida—Violation of Section 34-97 Duties and
Responsibilities for Maintenance, and Section 34-98 Building Appearance and
Maintenance, in that the property exterior is in need of maintenance.
4. Case No. 98-69, Vernon Wilmer, (220 Fillmore Avenue), Section 23, Township
24 South, Range 37 East, Avon-By-The-Sea, Block 52, Lot 13, Brevard
County, Florida— Violation of Section 34-97 Duties and Responsibilities for
Maintenance, in the fence around the perimeter is in need or repairs/replacement,
and the chain-link fence in the front of the property the privacy fence panels/slats
need to be painted/replaced.
REQUEST FOR REDUCTION OF IMPOSED FINE AMOUNT:
1. Case No. 98-47, Magma Trading Corporation, (8200 Astronaut Blvd), Section
23, Township 24 South, Range 37 East, Parcel 286, Brevard County, Florida—
Violation of Section 34-97 Duties and Responsibilities for Maintenance, and
Section 94-7 Conformance, in that the property is in need of exterior maintenance
and the advertising on the exterior does not conform to city code.
PUBLIC HEARINGS:
1. Case No. 99-01, Erthel J. Duffett, (333 Madison Avenue), Section 23,
Township 24 South, Range 37 East, Block 21, Lots 7,8, Brevard County,
Florida—Violation of Section 34-97 Duties and Responsibilities for Maintenance,
in that the property is not being maintained in compliance with the required
property maintenance standards.

South, Range 37 East, Canaveral Beach Gardens, Block 5, Lot 2, Brevard
County, Florida. —Violation of Section 34-181 Storing, Parking, or Leaving on
Private Property, in that an inoperable motor vehicle is being stored upon the
property.
3. Case No. 99-03, James A. Smith, (374 Jefferson Avenue), Section 23,
Township 24 South, Range 37 East, Avon-By-The-Sea, Block 9, Lots 13,14,15,
Brevard County, Florida. — Violation of Section 34-181 Storing, Parking, or
Leaving on Private Property, in that an inoperable motor vehicle is being stored
upon the property.
4. Case No. 99-04, Paul A. Boyd, (372 Jefferson Avenue), Section 23, Township
24 South, Range 37 East, Avon-By-The-Sea, Block 9, Lots 13, 14, 15,
Brevard County, Florida. — Violation of Section 34-181 Storing, Parking, or
Leaving on Private Property, in that an inoperable motor vehicle is being stored
upon the property.
5. Case No. 99-05, Ronald & Gloria Purcell, (224 Adams Avenue), Section 23,
Township 24 South, Range 37 East, Avon-By-The-Sea, Block 2, Lots 15,16,
Brevard County, Florida. — Violation of the 1994 Standard Fire Prevention Code,
as adopted by the city, Chapter 35 Garages, Section 3502.4 Garaged or Stored
Vehicles, in that a motorcycle is being stored inside the residential dwelling unit
in unit # 8.
Pursuant to Section 286.1015, F.S., the City hereby advises the public that: If a person
decides to appeal any decision made by the Code Enforcement Board with respect to any
matter considered at this meeting, that person will need a record of the proceedings, and
for such purpose that person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings
is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be
based. This notice does not constitute consent by the City for the introduction or
admission into evidence of otherwise inadmissible or irrelevant evidence, nor does it
authorize challenges or appeals not otherwise allowed by law.
