HomeMy WebLinkAboutKM Sample Display Ad/ BEACH END PARKING METERS COMING SOON TO THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL The City of Cape Canaveral is installing public parking meters at its 15 beach end streets as well as one meter in the Harbor Heights subdivision. The meters are solar powered devices that accept coins and credit/debit cards. Parking will be metered 8 am to 6 pm, seven days a week at a cost of $1.00/hour. The anticipated effective date is December 1, 2011. The program will shift the cost of beach maintenance, which includes the parking areas, dune crossover repairs, beach management/renourishment/raking, signage, landscaping, roadway maintenance and trash pick-up to those individuals who use the City’s beautiful beaches, but do not live in the City. Residents and non-residents may apply for an Annual Pass. Cape Canaveral residents may request that a portion of their ad valorem taxes be used to offset the cost of the Pass.
