A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA; AMENDING APPENDIX B – SCHEDULE OF FEES TO PROVIDE FOR FEES AS REQUIRED BY CHAPTER 74, TRAFFIC AND VEHICLES; ARTICLE
III STOPPING, STANDING, PARKING; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, has by Ordinance No. __-___ (Chapter 74, Traffic and Vehicles; Article III Stopping, Standing, Parking) provided for
the installation of parking meters in the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance requires fees and fines be established in Appendix B – Schedule of Fees.
WHEREAS, it is now incumbent upon the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral to set fees for the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, as follows:
SECTION 1.
Chapter 74 Traffic and Vehicles
Article III. Stopping, Standing, Parking
(a) Parking fees and fines:
(1) Hourly parking fees $1.00 per hour
(2) Permit fees $60.00 per year
(3) Special Event flat rate $25.00 per event
(4) Parking Citation, $30.00
(5) Handicapped or Special Event Parking Violation $100.00
(6) Parked on Ocean dunes $100.00
(7) Failing to pay all applicable parking fees $30.00
(8) Penalty for not paying Parking Citation within
required days of issuance $25.00
(9) Administrative fee for dismissing Parking
Citation for improperly displayed placard or permit $10.00
(10) Appeal of Citation $25.00
(refundable if citation is dismissed)
(b) Surcharge on parking fines.
(1) A surcharge in the amount of $10.00 is hereby imposed on all parking fines imposed under this article for parking violations occurring within the city, for the sole purpose of funding
school crossing guard programs.
(2) The proceeds collected from this surcharge shall be placed in the "Cape Canaveral School Crossing Guard Trust Fund," which is hereby established, and funds collected from this surcharge
shall be distributed quarterly to fund school crossing guard programs. The city may set aside funds derived from this surcharge to pay for star-up costs and recurring administrative
costs related to printing new tickets or other means of implementing the school crossing guard program.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
