The attached article explains the Florida laws for such vehicles used on streets – the vehicle will need turn signals, lights, brake lights, FDOT-approved glass, etc. Also attached is one advertisement for the type of car that will be required. The cost will be in the neighborhood of $8,000 to $10,000 depending on any upgrades. The cars can be upgraded with solar panels to reduce recharging costs. However, the solar panels simply extend the time between charges – the cars still need to be charged. The cost is around $3,000 to fit a car with solar panels. The car can be stored at the Public Works Facility – a charging station can be set up inside the bay area. Since the vehicle will be “street legal”, the meter maid is allowed to cross SR A1A with the vehicle.
