ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS TO PROVIDE CONNECTIONS TO THE POWER SERVICE BY MEAN OF A DEDICATED BRANCH CIRCUIT. THE CIRCUIT DISCONNECTING MEANS SHALL HAVE A RED MARKING AND BE IDENTIFIED AS "FIRE ALARM CIRCUIT CONTROL' THE LOCATION OF THE CIRCUIT DISCONNECTING MEANS SHALL BE PERMANENTLY IDENTIFIED AT THE FIRE ALARM CONTROL UNIT. 2. FIRE ALARM CONTRACTOR TO TIE DUCT -SMOKE DETECTORS IF ANY, INTO FIRE ALARM SYSTEM AND PROVIDE FOR SYSTEM SHUTDOWN. 3, FIRE ALARM PANELS WILL NOT CONTAIN ANY WIRE NUTS, OR SIMILAR CONNECTIONS, WITHIN THE PANEL, EXCEPT FOR THE CONNECTION TO THE PRIMARY POWER SUPPLY. 4. ANY PENETRATIONS MADE THROUGH A FIRE RATED ASSEMBLY SHALL BE PROPERLY SEALED TO MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY OF THE ASSEMBLY PER U.L. AND NFPA 5. DEVICES ARE NOT DRAWN TO SCALE; POSITIONS MAY VARY DUE TO PHYSICAL AND/OR DECOR LIMITS. 6. WIRE RUNS ARE ILLUSTRATED TO SHOW THE DEVICE SEQUENCE AND CIRCUIT CONTINUITY ONLY. 7. WALL MOUNTED SPEAKERIHORN STROBES & STROBES SHALL BE PLACED 80" AFF. CEILING MOUNTED TO THE BOTTOM OF CEILING STRUCTURAL STEEL AT LESS THAN 30' AFF. DEVICES MUST BE ABOVE AND CLEAR OF ANYIALL MATERIAL 8. FOR MANUAL PULL STATIONS MAXIMUM FORWARD REACH SHALL BE NO MORE THAN 48'. 9. A ZONE MAP SHALL BE POSTED AT THE FIRE ALARM PANEL AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATORS. 10. PROVIDE "BACK BOXES ON ALL APPLIANCES OR DEVICES PER NFPA # 70 OR PER MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. 11. DO NOT INSTALL SMOKE DETECTORS IN THE DIRECT PATH OF AIR FLOW FROM SUPPLY. INSTALL AT LEAST 3 FEET FROM AIR VENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS PER NFPA 72. 12. NO DEVIATION OF HORIZONTAL SPACING AS SHOWN ON DRAWINGS BETWEEN STROBES & HORN/STROBES & MINI-HORN/STROBES. FOR COMPLIANCE WITH NFPA CODES AND STANDARDS & A.D.A. 13. ALL CONDUIT SHALL BE 314' MINIMUM. 14. INSTALLATION PERSONNEL SHALL BE SUPERVISED BY PERSONS WHO ARE QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED IN THE INSTALLATION, INSPECTION, AND TESTING OF FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS. EXAMPLES OF QUALIFIED PERSONNEL SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: a. FACTORY TRAINED AND CERTIFIED PERSONNEL b. NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF CERTIFICATION IN ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIES (NICET) FIRE ALARM LEVEL II CERTIFIED PERSONNEL c. PERSONNEL LICENSED OR CERTIFIED BY STATE OR LOCAL AUTHORITY. 15. THE LOCATION OF ALL DUCT SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE PERMANENTLY AND CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AND RECORDED. THIS IS USUALLY ACCOMPLISHED BY PROVIDING A SEPARATE ZONE FOR EACH DETECTOR OR BY PROVIDING REMOTE INDICATORS SO THAT THEY WILL BE VISIBLE FROM THE FLOOR LEVEL. IN ADDITION, A PLACARD SHALL BE PLACED OUTSIDE THE FIRST POINT OF ACCESS TO REACH THE DETECTOR. FOR EXAMPLE, THE PLACARD MAY BE MOUNTED ON THE WALL BENEATH THE CEILING TILE THAT MUST BE REMOVED TO ACCESS THE DUCT. 16. A STICKER SHALL BE CONSPICUOUSLY AFFIXED TO THE SIGNALING SYSTEM COMPONENT IDENTIFYING THE CENTRAL STATION BY NAME AND TELEPHONE NUMBER. UFSRS 69A-48.008 17. HORNISTROBES SHALL BE SYNCHRONIZED. 18.
