Despite our requests to ensure that the parking lot expansion project
on the WEST side of the plaza doesn't sacrifice public safety and ends
up creating additional public safety issues , the City of Cape
Canaveral Officials for reasons best known to themselves have gone ahead
and approved this project . This approval was made without considering
the impact of building 15 parking spaces over a storm water drain which
is directly overseen by the another agency i.e. St. John's River Water
Management District. Was the Land Lord provided a notice by the City
that before embarking on the project he needs clearance from St.John's
River Water Management District? Or is it the contention of the city
that it is not obligated to provide any such notice to the Land Lord and
it is his responsibility to figure out from what other agency or
agencies he needs clearance, before starting work on the expansion?
Even if there is legally no obligation on the part of the city there is
one ethically and morally considering the impact of the approval on
public safety.
Checked with St.John's Water Management District and they do not have
any paper work . They've reached out to the Land Lord and have asked for
proof of paperwork just in case it was not recorded in their system.
They've left a message to a city official regarding this matter and have
been waiting on a call back since yesterday.
Thanks
