Re: Beachwave Complex driveway permit request
This email is to follow up on our phone conversation and to elaborate
on City of Cape Canaveral, Planning Department, Review Comment # 2.
“Driveway from A1A – depict driveway as a right-in, right-out only”.
Staff is primarily concerned with safety issues and traffic conflicts
associated with left (northbound) turn movements exiting the proposed
driveway onto SR A1A. There is the potential for conflicts with
southbound traffic stacked at the signal at SR A1A and Central Boulevard
as well as with movements in to and out of the RaceTrac gas station.
Given that the property is located at a signaled intersection, Staff
recommends directing all northbound traffic exiting the site to Central
Blvd. where the signal at Central and A1A will allow for a more safe
northbound traffic movement. Again, Staff recommends prohibiting a left
(northbound) turn exiting the property onto A1A and supports directing
northbound traffic exiting the site to Central Blvd. and through the
signal at SR A1A. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely
