Barry Brown Planning and Development Director City of Cape Canaveral, Florida phone 321 868-1206 fax 321 868-1247 B.Brown@cityofcapecanaveral.org From: Lonnie Dunn Sent: Monday, June 25, 2012 12:32 PM To: Barry Brown Cc: Angela Apperson; Todd Morley Subject: Economic Development Rate Available from FPL Hello Barry, I was just doing some research on the WWTP FPL bill and I stumbled across a site I do not know if you were aware of. http://www.fpl.com/landing/powering_florida.shtml They are advertising Special Electric Service Rate for Businesses that increase their load by at least 350 Kilowatts or add 10 new jobs per 350 Kilowatts of added load prior to June 1, 2013. This is their flyer. http://www.fpl.com/landing/pdf/special_rate.pdf They advertise on the flyer that “FPL’s new economic development rates can potentially save a 350-kW business customer an additional $9,500 to $12,000 in the first year which helps offset the costs of starting up, expanding or moving their operations to Florida.” This may still help the Brewery or the Beach Wave if you brought it to their attention. FPL will not give out any breaks unless you ask for them. Thanks, Lonnie Lonnie Dunn Deputy Director of Public Works Services City of Cape Canaveral P.O.
