HomeMy WebLinkAboutPerimeter Window Lighting at the Beachwave DevelopmentDavid, FYI Earlier this week Glenn asked about electrical outlets being installed at and around the interior side of the windows at the Beachwave Complex currently under construction. Speaking with Glenn about this, I realized that the owner may intend to install perimeter window lighting, similar to his other stores in Cocoa Beach. Today, Barry, Glenn and I met with Mosh Gal (owner) to inform him of currently proposed sign code revisions that may affect him. Most notably, the draft proposes to prohibit perimeter window lighting. He became angry and said that the City is trying to tell him how to conduct his retail operations. I assured him that the proposed code is trying to set minimum aesthetic signage standards which will apply throughout the City. He said he will commence legal action. I provided him a copy of the draft that is currently before the P&Z Board. I stressed that the document was a draft and there is plenty of opportunity for public comment. He was provided with the next P&Z meeting date/time/location. Todd Todd Morley Community & Economic Development Director City of Cape Canaveral 7510 N. Atlantic Ave. P.O.
