HomeMy WebLinkAboutPietros Signage - 8801 Astronaut Blvd Cape CanaveralGood afternoon Paul. I have researched the Sign Code and other City records and have determined the following related to signage at Pietro’s. Per the City Code, each storefront of a building (Pietro’s (southern storefront) and Beach Wave (eastern storefront)) can have up to two wall-mounted signs and each parcel may have one ground-mounted sign per street frontage. However, on May 30, 2013, at the request of the property owner, the City’s Board of Adjustment granted two variances. The first variance authorized one of the permitted signs (allotted to the southern storefront) to be relocated to the eastern storefront. This resulted in the southern storefront being limited to one wall-mounted sign – which you currently have. As a result, no additional wall-mounted signage is allowed on your storefront. The second variance that was approved shifted some of the allowable square footage from the Central Avenue ground-mounted sign to the A1A ground-mounted sign. According to my research, a ground-mounted sign can be erected on the Central Avenue frontage up to a size of 55 square feet. You can review the minutes of the May 30, 2013 Board of Adjustment meeting on the City’s website. Just go to www.cityofcapecanaveral.org <http://www.cityofcapecanaveral.org> and on the left column click on the “Agendas & Minutes” tab and go to “Board of Adjustment Agendas and Minutes.” Regarding the awning which we discussed, as long as there is no “signage” associated with the awning, this can be erected once a permit is issued by the City’s Building Department. I hope this helps. Dave David Dickey Planning and Zoning Director Community and Economic Development 7510 N.
