I have a mission for you, should you choose to accept it :)
We need to invite our local businesses/nonprofits to Founders’ Day and
I’m thinking for this year we could try doing a mail chimp. I’ve
attached a copy of the email list that Ginger sent me with all the BTR
contacts along with the info/registration form for the cook-off. I
created a draft of the message (in purple below) feel free to tweak it
as you see fit. The web link is already live and directs folks to the
document center for the registration form.
Here’s some random details so we can ‘speak with one voice’ if you get
questions:
* We are encouraging in-person submissions rather than
snail-mail/email because of the payment factor: mailed checks take time
and credit/cash payments must be done in person.
* I included a little blurb about the other registration
options, but I’m hoping (for Cape View’s sake) to get more
business/professional registrations.
* The City will be providing compostable cups and spoons for
the tasting— the registrants will need to provide everything else listed
in the packet.
* The goal with the cook-off is to raise at least $500 for
their playground fund, if we get nothing but businesses/professional
entries it could exceed $1000
This is just a small piece of the overall promotions for this, I will
keep you in the loop as I roll out posters, sparks, etc.

Hello Cape Canaveral!
Because our local businesses are an invaluable part of our community,
the City would like to invite you to take part in our annual Founders’
Day event to promote your business to residents and visitors of Cape
Canaveral—for free!
This year’s event is different from previous years because our local
businesses have more than one way they can participate.
The first option is the same as previous years: Set up a free outreach
booth. Businesses are invited to bring a table/tent and are welcome to
sell merchandise or promote the services they provide.
The second option is to join in the “Out of this World Chowder
Cook-off”! Food is always a great way to connect with your customer
base, and you’ll get to show off your favorite chowder recipe while
supporting a great cause! 100% of the funds generated will support the
Cape View Elementary PTO. People’s choice awards will be given for best
chowder and there will be an added contest for the most “Spaced-out
Booth” with a special prize for the booth with the best space/moon
landing theme décor.
Registration costs:
$15 - Local (non-food) businesses and non-profit associations
$20 - Professionals: Restaurants and catering companies
There are additional registration options available for individuals and
condo/homeowners associations should you know someone else that may be
interested.

Taylor Avenue. All participants must register by April 1st and space is
limited! Registration for the chowder cook-off is first-come,
