Our office has received a complaint regarding the storage of a boat and trailer not legally tagged.
Description of Violation(s) at property: ABAND -PV
Sec. 34 -181. Storing, parking or leaving on private property.
(a) No person shall park, store, leave or permit the storing or leaving of any abandoned property or
inoperable motor vehicle of any kind, whether attended or not, upon any private property within the city;
except that, with respect to an inoperable motor vehicle, such vehicle may be parked, stored or left on the
property for a period of time not to exceed 72 hours. The presence of such abandoned property, and
inoperable vehicles, or parts thereof, on private property is hereby declared a public nuisance which may
be abated in accordance with the provisions of this article.
Sec. 110 -551. Location of recreational vehicles, camping equipment, boats and boat trailers.
(2) Regulations. The following regulations shall apply to boats, utility trailers, recreational vehicles
or special purpose vehicles:
d. All vehicles herein permitted shall have affixed thereto a currently valid license tag registered to
the vehicle, shall be parked or stored with wheels and tires mounted, and shall be maintained in a
movable condition.
Sec. 110 -555. Paving of vehicular use areas.
All commercial and industrial areas used for the display or parking of any and all types of vehicles,
boats or heavy construction equipment and all land upon which vehicles traverse the property as a
function of the primary use, including but not limited to drives, parking, service and display areas, shall be
paved.
Recommendation to correct the violation(s) described above:
Please provide staff with the current vehicle registration information for the boat and trailer. Please
maintain the trailer in a movable condition. The trailer must have a valid tag placed on the trailer at all
times and the storage of the boat shall meet the above stated requirements.
Failure to comply within fifteen (15) days from receipt of this Courtesy Notice shall result in further
action as allowed by law.
