INTRODUCTION This project consists of constructing a 2-story community recreational facility with associated parking, utilities, and concrete promenade walkway. The site is located within Monroe Avenue, Orange Avenue, Magnolia Avenue, and Harrison Avenue, in Cape Canaveral. See Figure 1 for a Location Map. The site is a currently developed park with a basketball court and ball fields. This site was previously permitted under SJRWMD Permit No. 140486-1, for the City Park Stormwater Retrofit project to account for runoff and treatment volume. The retrofit system provides all the attenuation this project requires. An additional pond with a drop structure will be added by the multi-generational center to provide pre- treatment for the runoff from the new impervious areas. III. SOILS INFORMATION A subsurface investigation was performed by Ardaman & Associates, Inc. for the City Park Stormwater Retrofit project. A copy of the report has been included in Appendix A of this report. The explorations consisted of conducting 4 auger borings to depths of 15 feet below ground surface as well as two field permeability tests. Refer to the report for a listing of the results. Note that a safety factor of 2 was applied to K. See Figure 3 for the SCS Soils Map and Figure 4 for the FEMA flood map. III. PROPOSED CONDITIONS ANALYSIS The ICPR version 3.10 program was used for the proposed conditions analysis. Hydrographs for the Mean-Annual Storm, 10 Year – 24 Hour Storm and the 25 Year – 24 Hour Storm were generated and routed by the program to the exfiltration trenches. The rate of discharge was calculated. The input for percolation consists of the stage vs storage data of the facility, base of the aquifer, water table elevation, horizontal saturated (Kh) and vertical unsaturated (Kuv) infiltration rates, effective porosity, suction head, layer thickness, and pond perimeter distances. The stage/area inputs in ICPR are used to determine the storage volume. Page 2 The proposed conditions modeling is shown in Appendix B and the proposed pre-treatment volume is shown in Appendix C.
