No. 09-2019 Hi Wes. The cost to send regular mail would be $.35 (staff time) plus $.50 postage per letter. That would be $.85/letter. The reason for the reduced Staff cost with regular mail is that there are a lot less “touches” compared to a certified, return receipt letter. No. 09-2019 Thanks Dave. Question 2 clarification. What is the new proposed cost (staff labor + mail) by using regular mail opposed to certified? I’m trying to calculate savings. No. 09-2019 Hi Wes. In response to your email from yesterday, see below: 1. Cost for a certified, return receipt letter is $6.80 (see www.USPS.com <http://www.USPS.com> ) and Staff time has been determined to be approximately $.70 per letter. This equals $7.50 per letter. The agenda cover does not quote a $7.50 postage rate. It does say there would be a “cost to the public” of $7.50 per certified/return receipt letter. 2. Please clarify your question for #2. 3. Based on a 500 ft. radius (as required by City Code) from the affected parcels for the upcoming City comprehensive rezonings, there are 6,907 unique account numbers that would have to be noticed. This includes: * For the residential rezoning — 3116 IDs; * For the conservation rezoning — 972 IDs; * For public/recreation rezoning — 2819 IDs. I will forward you a copy of the spreadsheet in a separate email. It may have to be separated into several separate emails as it is a massive file. I want to emphasize that the proposed revisions will bring the City’s notice procedure in-line with current State requirements. Let me know if you have any further questions. Questions regarding Item 5 for the upcoming Council Meeting. Would you please send me the following when you have time? 1.)Sourced postage rates you are referencing at $7.50 2.) Sourced and unknown new rate for “regular mail” 3.) Excel spreadsheet contact list of (5000 estimated) people who would be mailed within the radius.
