Councilman John Porter Director Nancy Hanson
Bill Schmidt Nate Jones
Marianne Kulac
Chairman Marianne Kulac called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m..
Minutes of the July meeting were approved as corrected on a motion by Regina Mead
and seconded by Harvey Renshaw. (Regina Mead - present at that meeting.)
A motion was made by Harvey Rehshaw, seconded by Colin Finnegan to accept minutes
of the September meeting as submitted.
The Budget report was discussed. It was noted that that projections of both
expenditures(13%) and revenues(16%) are at the predicted percentages.
Reports --
Many activities have taken place as reported, including a Hallowe'en party, a
Teen Holiday Dance, and a Racquetball tournament. Nancy noted that the
participation in Tennis Tournaments has seriously diminished, and one was
cancelled. It is a trend throughout the community. Should a cause become
evident, steps will be taken to encourage greater involvement.
Unfinished Business --None.
New Business--
- The Patriots' Day Parade will be held on March 13, 1993. Each of the members
of the board will be expected to help in some way. Nancy spoke about the
change in Food service, which will allow local merchants to pay a fee,
permitting them to sell food. Councilman Porter suggested that the Cape
Canaveral merchants/business people engage in a "Mini Trade Show", not for
selling purposes, but to acquaint the public with what is available within our
City. A discussion followed regarding the propriety of profit making by either
group. The Parade Committee will take this matter into consideration.
Positive contacts have been made, and it appears that many participants will
be part of the Parade.
Election of Officers --
