CAPE CANAVERAL RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
JULY 23, 1990
Members present: Colin Finnigan, Nate Jones, Regina Mead
Members absent: Marianne Kulac, Harvey Renshaw, Bill Schmidt
Also present: Councilman John Porter, Nancy Hanson
Chairman Finnigan called the meeting to order at 5:05 P.M.
rinutes from. June 4th meeting were not presented for approval as
a quorem was not present.
Treasurers report was Jiscussed. Ms. Hanson discussed the new
revenue report format showing this budget years revenue as well
as comparison figures from the past fiscal year. This format
was requested by H. Renshaw at the June meeting.
Directors report included the following:
1. May activity report
2. Juno activity report
3. June tennis tournament report
4. Summer recreation transportation update - averging 16 kids
per day going to Kiwanis Island Park
5. 1990-91 budget has been submitted. Councilman Porter dis-
cussed budget process and suggested Board members might like
to atten Muncil's August 9th Special budget meeting.
6. A voter registration jay and fall elections will be held at
the Recreation Center.
7. A softball tournament will be held at City Park on August
4th and 5th. Sponsoring group will pay for use of field
an lights, if used.
S. A "Back to School" 'Teen Dance will be helC on August 17th
from 8 to 10:30 p.m.
9. A tennis tournament will be held on September 8 and 9th.

Discussion. Fs. Hanson iiscussed the condition Little League had
left the facilities in at seasons' end anj the lack of response
to a letter that was sent to ask that the problems be correcte.
Also -discussed was some problems encountered during the season.
She stated that a formal agreement was needed between the City
and Little League an should be in place prior to the onset of
the 1991 season. Board members agreewith the concept and intent.
