Interior Walls: Mr.Spenik reported that the new drainage ditch around the
building seems to be working well. A discussion then followed as to when the
library could be closed to enable the interior work on the library walls to
be done. Mrs.Stewart explained that other libraries in the county would be
closing for repairs and Cape Canaveral Library work would have to be done
in the very near future or wait until fall. It was decided to go ahead with
the work as soon as possible. The library closing time was discussed. It was
decided that the library would close for repairs May 31, 1991 at 5 p.m.
Mrs. Stewart offered two county employees to do the job of readying the library
for the workmen ; removing books from shelves etc. The walls will be covered
with formica. The work is expected to begin on June 3, and to be completed in
approximately seven days.
V. NEW BUSINESS:
Mr.Spenik said that a information package on the current City Clean-up Cam-
paign was being mailed out to homeowners. He suggested that a flyer with
information on the library could be enclosed. Harry Ernst volunteered :to go
ahead with this and presented his ideas to the Board. It was agreed that Mr.
Ernst would get the flyer to the printer in time for the mailing. Mrs.
Escapa said the money for this could cane frau the Book Sale money. It was
agreed to spend approximately $100.00 on this project although no estimates
were immediately available.
Motion to spend at least $100.00 of the Book Sale money for the flyers by
Tim Grady, seconded by Ernestine Butte. Passed
Due to the fact that there would be much upheaval and extra work in the
library in the next few weeks, it was decided that there will be no Board
