Hi Mr. Campbell. As I indicated in an earlier email, the City sent
Certified Mail, a Notice of Violation to Mr. Schmitz regarding the
unsafe conditions related to the swimming pool. The Notice gave Mr.
Schmitz until December 21st to remedy the nuisance conditions related to
the pool. This did not occur. Nor did he timely file an appeal to the
Notice. The City is now taking steps to cause the demolition of the
pool.
With respect to the homesteading of the property, that is administered
by the Brevard County Property Appraisers Office. It is my
understanding that they are reviewing this case again to determine is
the property owner qualifies.

Yes, I want the code violations corrected. All of them. That back yard
is a junk heap, the plastic fence is not a complaint solution. Putting
up his rotted fence to screen the violations is not fixing the
violations. He is committing fraud claiming he lives there. You have a
10 year long paper trail of these exact conditions with no progress to
compliance, none. What is the real plan to bring this property into the
standards the community expects to be enforced?

Good afternoon Mr. Campbell. The orange temporary fence at 305 Surf has
been reinstalled around the pool. Also, the owner has submitted a permit
to repair the fence along the common property line with you. We will
move this along as quickly as possible. Let me know if you have anything
else you want to discuss. Dave
