HomeMy WebLinkAboutRE 305 Surf (21)Is any progress being made? I am faced with another summer of this stagnant pool and abandoned property. Also, I had a fence contractor come to give me an estimate to replace my fences and I asked to replace the west also. He said he would not touch the west property line in the condition it is in now, the warning placard, the trash on the property line, downed tree, the overgrown rubber tree and the abandoned boat hull. If you did not receive my response, I have copied it below. Good morning Mr. Campbell. We have completed all of the required posting/notices as required by law for homesteaded property. We are currently getting bids for the pool demo. You should see some activity very shortly. Please call me if you would like to discuss further. Thanks for your patience. We are getting very close! As I indicated in an earlier email, the City sent Certified Mail, a Notice of Violation to Mr. Schmitz regarding the unsafe conditions related to the swimming pool. The Notice gave Mr. Schmitz until December 21st to remedy the nuisance conditions related to the pool. This did not occur. Nor did he timely file an appeal to the Notice. The City is now taking steps to cause the demolition of the pool. With respect to the homesteading of the property, that is administered by the Brevard County Property Appraisers Office. It is my understanding that they are reviewing this case again to determine is the property owner qualifies.
