We have received a complaint from Mr. Campbell regarding 305 Surf Dr. this is the property that I took to code board and they placed a lien on the property do to property condition. Mr. Campbell is complaining because the fence fell down during the hurricane, however we are giving individuals with hurricane damage time to repair their properties. Mike wanted me to send this to you as a heads up that this issue may come back around if the owner doesn’t repair his fence. If the fence has fallen down and the pool is exposed can the Building Official legally trespass onto the property and secure the pool? I hope you came through the storm ok. I am wondering about damage in Cape Canaveral and specifically about building permits to fix the damage. Is the City going to expedite or waive permits to repair/replace damage? I am also back to questioning the 305 Surf Drive property. I spent hours today picking up his rotten fences and broken trees from my yard. He is no where to be found. The pool enclosure, what was left from 10 years of neglect is now completely down. More roof damage and the pool is now completely exposed. I am requesting the City to come and clean up his mess, inspect his property and safe the pool from potential accidents. There has been NO movement in 10 years to bring this up to code or at least protect people from the hazards. Help me please. Florida has a very broad public records law.
