HomeMy WebLinkAboutFW 305 Surf DriveMike,
I received this yesterday.
I asked the owner if I could get access to the back of the property and
he never let me, however the front of the property has been cleaned. I
went to the front door and although he is using it as a storage area it
does not smell and is clean. The vehicle out front did not have a tag on
it when I first went there I spoke with the owner and he put the tag in
the back window due to his concerns of it being stolen. I also
attempted to see the back yard from the neighbor behind him on numerous
occasions however no one was home. I cannot site for something I cannot
see.

Subject: 305 Surf Drive
The latest minutes of the Code Enforcement Board 10/22/2015 show the
following status for the subject property. This property has been an
eyesore for a decade. You need to do nothing more than look at the
aerial view on the Brevard County Property website, a picture that is a
couple of years old, to verify the property condition has only degraded
from the time the picture was taken. The roof has sheet metal held down
by weights from a body building set. The pool popped out of the ground
years ago and is now nothing more than a breeding ground for insects and
habitat for raccoons, rats and possums The pool screens have been
missing for years. There is junk, rotten wood and trash throughout the
back. The outbuildings are in the same deplorable condition. The minutes
say progress has been made and that is not the case. There is a car in
the front (been there for years), untagged. The property does not meet
the conditions required by statute and nothing is being done by the city
to correct this. Please review the ordinances again. If you can't get on
the property, ask the people in the surrounding properties to let you
look at the back of 305. Go to the front door and see if you can stand
the smell. This property is not in compliance. Mr. Randel, you live 2
blocks from this property. Take a look at it, would you want to live
closer? Can you tell me why the city is not doing due diligence in this
case?
