POLICY
“Government monuments, markers, and signs located on public property” are signs that includes the following
traits:
• It promotes an event which the City Council considers of significant local, regional or national
importance from a historical and/or cultural perspective
• It does not promote a for-profit venture, and
• It does not compete with any existing non-governmental business
These signs may be exempt if they meet the criteria established in the code, (see below)
Sec. 94-4. Exemptions.
The following signs may be erected without a permit, subject, however, to all remaining requirements of these
regulations:
(10) Subject to the criteria established in section 94-61, temporary, permanent, and portable government
monuments, markers, and signs located on public property.
