I assume that you see the FM going in first and the development happening later? Let me know if you see it differently. We will get to work using the previous design product and then we can finish up once we get the new development design files. They plan a future driveway to connect to SR A1A, but the force main should be to the north of this driveway. With us takin the route of the existing main, that would be a substantial change and therefore require re-permitting. If a FDOT permit was acquired, it will need to be renewed since they are technically only good for 6 months. If we cross SR A1A where the existing main crosses, then FDOT will may require soil borings at that location. We can hold off on that until FDOT requires such to see if the existing info is enough for them. I agree the proposal seemed high since it is already designed and permitted. But with us taking an entirely different route, it is almost like starting over. We can provide an alternate proposal to use the existing design/route if you would like. Also, we can remove the construction phase services from the proposal at this time and revisit that work under a separate proposal later. We have the ability to sharpen our pencil greatly if we get a good contractor as low bidder. One idea I did have was to consider pipebursting or sliplining existing pipe. I’m not sure of the material and potential for this. It would also require bypass piping/pumping/hauling during the operation. Assuming this pump station has considerable flow, this may not be a feasible option. You may still want to consider renegotiating the easement. Possibly vacate the sidewalk easement in exchange for more favorable abilities on pipe depth/route. They would avoid the City ever building a sidewalk across their property. Also, if another route/easement could be chosen, vacating the existing easements may allow them to join the two properties and have larger buildable area. Just a thought.
