HomeMy WebLinkAboutSewer Line Acceptance
Good Afternoon.
Hello Todd,
Thank you for your letter.
I’m somewhat surprised that you’re asking for the number of units we
propose to build.
We have discussed this on numerous occasions.
The number of units was and remains at 125, and the reason we can’t
accommodate 150 units is due to the size of the parcel.
This too was discussed over a year and a half ago at our initial
meeting. Clearly, we were told there is flexibility.
In so far as the elevations site plan, foot print etc. has all been
done.
In fact, we shared all of this with you, and the commissions at the
meetings we had several months ago.
Additionally, we were told that the city and staff supported this
project on many occasions.
Certainly, we would not have spent the time and money that we have to
date, if we weren’t assured of the support for this project.
I’m perplexed as to why the sudden lack of assistance and support, this
is contrary to prior conversations.
Regarding the sewer line direction/route; this is not a surprise you
have known all along.
We need to bring in the sewer line to the property, we even discussed
the maintenance of the sewer line and maintenance agreement.
You may recall the meeting which included D.O.T. regarding the sewer
line.
Where would you expect the sewer line to be installed, if not the
public right of way?
Last but not least, we are not asking for you to advocate or act on our
behalf, we’re merely asking for acceptance of the location of the
proposed sewer line as shown, which was agreed to by the D.O.T.
We are not asking that you act on our behalf in any way. Since the
right of way is in your city, we thought it would be appropriate that we
collectively understand, and agree on the location.
Something doesn’t make sense to me, this is absolutely contrary to all
our meetings and discussions.
We certainly didn’t receive cooperation from the Port for some time,
but I never expected that the lack of cooperation would be the City of
Cape Canaveral given that we were told the city embraces the project,
needs a hotel, and would assist in the process, and specifically we were
told there is flexibility in the overlay district where this property
is.
If you and or staff have changed all that was represented, please let
me know immediately.
So that we can make informed decisions, as it pertains to this project.
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards,
Laila Witwicky
