HomeMy WebLinkAboutRE (15-091) Cape Canaveral Hotel - SMH Information (11)Jeff,
What they are looking for is an approval of the route so if they
approve the easement across their land, then it won’t change later. It
is time consuming to go through the process with them to get the
packages together for review and approval of the Board so they want to
try to make it right the first time.
Since we are getting close to having the loose ends tied up for the
various routes and utilities, I wanted to confirm that the route of the
forcemain along State Road A1A to the RaceTrac will work. Once the Port
finalizes the agreement with the Client, then we will be preparing the
construction plans for the offsite utilities. Were you able to get the
Vac truck out to the RaceTrac MH to confirm the information on it for
our connection?
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.

Can you give me an update on the status of the letter requested in the
earlier emails from below? I left a message with Todd on Monday
regarding this message also, but I didn’t hear anything back from him
yet. Any assistance you can provide on this letter to the Port would be
greatly appreciated.

Subject: RE: (15-091) Cape Canaveral Hotel - SMH Information
Jeff,
The client did some research for the easement through the hotel site
and found that obtaining an easement would not be possible. Therefore,
the hotel route does not appear to be a viable option.
With regards to the requested route approval, the Port Authority is
looking to receive something from the City stating that the route of the
forcemain that crosses the Port’s property is acceptable. For the most
part, the portion is question is for an area approximately 30 feet wide
located between the Client’s west property line and the east
right-of-way line of State Road A1A. It is understood that for the
final approval, the forcemain will require FDOT approval for the route
along State Road A1A, but at this time we are just trying to get
something for the Port Authority for the portion of the forcemain that
crosses their property.
Hopefully, this helps, but please let me know if you have any
questions. Thank you.

There will be a much shorter route (and easier) if that easement is
acquired through the new hotel behind Homewood Suites. I’m not sure of
their schedule for construction, but the manhole at RaceTrac will be
replaced when RaceTrac does their construction. Their proposed location
must also be approved with FDOT since most of the route is in the SR A1A
ROW.

Todd,
We are working with owner and attorneys to get a Development Agreement
approved with the Port on various utilities passing through their
property. As such, one item that they need is a letter from the City of
Cape Canaveral stating that the proposed route of the forcemain from the
Canaveral Property through the Port property to State Road A1A is
acceptable to the City. Right now they won’t proceed forward with the
Agreement until they receive a letter from the City on the proposed
route.
Please find attached a copy of the proposed route of the forcemain from
the site to the RaceTrac SMH as well as the proposed easement for the
forcemain across the Port’s property. If you can provide a letter for
this matter, it would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you
have any questions. Thank you.
