HomeMy WebLinkAboutFW CHG - Springhill Suites - Traffic Study (41)Anthony – see revised traffic study which includes all 10 of the traffic count stations as required by City Code. The study indicates that the surveyed road segments will continue to operate at an acceptable LOS. Please give me a call. The roadway analysis was based on the 10 count stations in the concurrency report you sent me. For Central Boulevard, it includes two stations (7 and 8), both east of SR-A1A. Regarding Central Boulevard west of SR-A1A, there would be 100 percent of trips because the driveways are along Central Boulevard. See attached (room count is not correct on plan). So 100 percent, or 211 two-way, PM peak hour trips would be assigned to that roadway based on my study (also attached if you agree with the general distribution). Given the driveway locations for each hotel, I would probably assume 40 percent of traffic would use the east driveway along W. Central Boulevard and 60 percent of traffic would use the west driveway along Central Boulevard. Is this what you are looking for? I can definitely call you if that is easier. Let me ask my previous question another way. What percentage of trips would you assign to the two (W. Central and Astronaut) driveways accessing the site. I have attached a project distribution from travel patterns I can tell in the area. I don’t know that even 10% would use Ridgewood Avenue or that 20% would use Central. I assumed traffic would drop off in areas. Can you please see if this distribution is reasonable to you? Please feel free to mark up as you think necessary. I will complete the study once I hear back from you and email it again to you for your review. Thanks, Natalia Lercari, P.E., LEED Green Associate McMahon Associates, Inc. This is a question for Natalia, why is W. Central Boulevard not included in the analyzed road segments? It will certainly be impacted by the proposed hotels and this segment functions as a collector. Sec. 86-6 states that “For developments that are anticipated to operate over 100 new peak hour trips, the applicant shall submit a traffic impact study that notes trip generation characteristics, trip distribution and anticipated capacity impacts at all city traffic count stations.” As indicated in Figure 1 of the provided Cape Canaveral CMS Report, there are 10 traffic count stations throughout the City. The submitted Traffic Study from McMahon is showing only 2 stations. Please let me know if you would like to discuss.
