Hello Todd, Here’s hope this finds you well! I’m writing in reference to the sewer line matter. Clearly we are perplexed as to why our request of the city to bring the sewer line to the subject property has been denied. In all my years in development and throughout the state of Florida, we have never been denied any utility or a service from a municipality. This is indeed a deterrent for development and growth. As you are well aware our project will add to the city’s tax base, provide jobs and a service, not to mention a beautiful facility at the entrance of the city. Additionally, it was stated at our initial meeting for a need of 750 additional hotel rooms. While we are only a small portion of the need, we aren’t causing an impact on the other facilities which leads me to wonder if this is of concern to city officials. Nevertheless, the financial impact on our project is significant. We have spent over $250,000.00 in preparation for a January ground breaking, for us to absorb the cost of the sewer line adds dollars we didn’t anticipate and the project can’t handle this expense. I see no logic behind the decision not to install the sewer line by the city. Perhaps a meeting with party’s that are in a position to reverse the decision would be appropriate. If you would be so kind as to facilitate a meeting with the city manager, city mayor and whomever you feel should be present. Or provide me with their contact information; as time is of the essence. I thank you in advance, your assistance is appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.
