RE: LETTER OF INTENT

We are in receipt of your letter dated May 16, 2016 regarding a Letter of Intent to contribute
$500,000 to the City of Cape Canaveral as it relates to a new hotel on the Cayer parcel. This was
based on a discussion I had with you on that same date.
We have reviewed the letter and find that, although we support the idea of bringing a new hotel
to this area, the scope of the letter is much broader than we had discussed.
It was my intent and understanding that our discussion was focused on the creation of utility
easements necessary to connect sewer to the parcel. As proposed in your letter, the City would
also be responsible for:
• Constructing sewer line improvements,
• Constructing water line improvements, and
• Providing access to the parcel.
We did not discuss these additional items. These would need to be provided by the developer.
These requests are well beyond the scope of our discussion and your efforts are better directed
toward you initially providing the needed items and the necessary easements.
The City remains open to discussion of future partnering opportunities, such as applying sewer
impact fee credits toward the development of the sewer utility.
