The race packet pickup schedule is listed below; it is a whole
week event. I’m not sure the impact the expo will have on the art
festival but I have made BCSO and Canaveral Fire Rescue aware of the
event.
MONDAY – FRIDAY (EXCEPT THANKSGIVING DAY):
NOVEMBER 20th – NOVEMBER 24th (NOT NOV. 23rd-THANKSGIVING DAY)
10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. Packet Pickup at Running Zone (Must pick
up your own packet with ID)
FRIDAY ACTIVITIES – NOVEMBER 24th
5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Marathon Mingle” at the Hilton Cocoa
Beach Oceanfront Pool deck. Free pre-race party with live music. Drink
and food specials are available.
SATURDAY ACTIVITIES – NOVEMBER 25th
• 9:00 a.m. Health & Fitness Expo Opens – Packet Pickup
Available
• 5:00 p.m. Health & Fitness Expo & Packet Pickup Closes
• 5:30 p.m. Pre-Race Pasta Dinner Opens
• 6:30 p.m. Keynote Speaker Presentation at Pre-Race
Dinner
Packet pickup will be available starting Monday, Nov. 20th
through Friday, Nov. 24th from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m at Running Zone.
(Closed Thanksgiving Day)

Hello Gustavo,
I have more information from someone who has participated in the
Marathon activity the last 5 years;
The Marathon has their fitness expo and race packet pickup in
the Radisson convention center from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday. The
race accommodates over 4,000 participants, most of whom will be going to
the Radission during that time period. My race participant says, "I've
done this race the past 5 years and the parking for this event at the
Radisson is a nightmare. Paved lots are full and the adjacent field is
at least half full. On Sunday, shuttle busses will be running to and
from the Radission starting at 4:30 am until about 3:00 pm to get
runners to and from Cocoa." I apologize for being so persistent, but it
appears there could definitely being conflict and impact.

Gustavo, thank you for your reply. I only brought this
to your attention, because plans and reality have a way of becoming
dissimilar. I was concerned about multiple activities competing for the
same parking area, possibly at the Radisson.

Good evening Mr. petty,
If there is a space coast marathon party at the
Radisson, it will be inside and parking will take place on their paved
parking lots in the evening. The space coast art festival will be over
by 5 on Saturday. The space coast marathon does not take place within
the City limits thus impact should be minimal if at all from their
event.
As far as traffic control, BCSO is in charge of
ensuring safe traffic flow and is dictating to the festival organizers
what they feel is needed for the weekend.
Another parking site at Port Canaveral has been
secured for the event, now making it 4 different places to be used.

Hello Gustavo,
Thank you for your email regarding parking for
the Art Show at Manatee Park on the holiday weekend. I have been made
aware, however, that there will be another major impact regarding
parking that weekend, and in the same area.
The Space Coast Marathon race to be held in
Cocoa on that Sunday is being coordinated and hosted, as I understand,
at the Radisson At The Port. There will be gathering Friday night of the
weekend at the hotel with many people parking in the area. It could
encompass the same parking as the Art Sow on Saturday and Sunday.
Has there been consideration for adequate
traffic control and parking in view of the two major activities?
