HomeMy WebLinkAboutSOCCER PARKING AT BANANA RIVER PARKGustavo - As a resident of Puerto Del Rio, I do love to see families supporting their children who are participating in active sports activities. However, I have asked multiple people to please use the provided parking lots – they continue to park on the street (totally ignoring the “No Parking” signs and our residents). I have called the Soccer Association twice and have been assured they will post something on the site and advise members to use the usually-empty parking lots rather than the street. Nothing! I usually get the “finger” or the F-bomb! I really do not want to have to call the Sheriff’s Office every Monday evening, but I feel it is a very real safety issue – children running out in the street, soccer balls going everywhere, and I do believe it is only a matter of time before someone is injured. Traffic continues to ignore posted speed limits, with no regard whatsoever to what is going on around them. Can you PLEASE ask the Sheriff’s Department to patro the park between the hours of 4:30 to 6:30 on Monday nights – they need to start issuing warnings and then tickets! Thank you for all you do and I would greatly appreciate your looking into this continuing problem – and I’ll same the motorized boat dockings for another day. Kathryn Parks Kathryn A.
