Hello Mr Bidwell,
Thank you for contacting me about the trees. I will pass this
information to the City Arborist, and see if there is any input from
him. We value the trees and pride ourselves on being a Tree City.
Thank you,
Joshua Surprenant

Subject: Concerns About Palm Tree Trimming
Mr. Surprenant:
Watching the city’s contractor trimming our palm trees yesterday
triggered my ongoing concern about this practice, as discussed in an
article published in Florida Today a few months ago, which was written
by a University of Florida horticulturist. I’ve attached the article
for your information. In addition, a UF Extension Service video on the
topic can be viewed at the web-link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tt76hXRHBoA
<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tt76hXRHBoA>
I’ve also attached a photo of trees that were trimmed in Banana River
Park on Monday.
I believe that we could save a lot of money and save our palm trees if
we follow the University of Florida’s guidance.
Thanks for listening,
Bill Bedwell
