HomeMy WebLinkAboutRE Banana River Park leak (6)Karen, I am not aware of grant programs for private residences. It does seem like your process will be easier than ours as far as permitting. We may be able to work together on the bank project as far as economies of scales. Who are you getting quotes from for your project? Since our project will be put out for bid, we can invite those contractors to bid (along with any others) and you could piggy back off that bid and save on mobilization at the least. Just brainstorming. Best regards, Gustavo Vergara Culture and Leisure Services Director g.vergara@cityofcapecanaveral.org 321-868-1226 321 863-9022 cell 321-868-1227 fax 7300 N. Atlantic Avenue P.O. They sent me permit paperwork and their diagrams etc. of how work should be done. We've only had one contractor here that gave us an estimate. Two more are scheduled to come this week. St johns requested to see contractors estimates in order to see scope of work, which i sent to them to review. As soon as we complete permit paperwork and get it back to st. Johns and approved we will pick contractor. FEMA denied us any aid. Told us to apply for small business loan. Do you know of any other grant programs? Our Engineer will be working with our Public Works Services Department to put together a bid package for the work. Once we come up with the scope of work, we can share that with you. it looks like right now, you're ahead of us on the process. Did you put together a scope of work or did your contractor do that for you? > > I would greatly appreciate any input of what your contractor sent you. I can see the leak from my balcony. FYI, it's located on the south side of the northern park exit. It is very near the "Do Not Enter Sign", which got push a little sideways during the hurricane. It's possible that the sign may have push, damaged, and ultimately broke the waterline. Hopefully it can be reached by digging into the ground beside the pavement. >> >> Gustavo, I've copied Will Hurley on this. He's our expert on the sprinkler system and knows where the lines run. He also knows and has worked with your contractor, Bobby Chasin, also copied. I also copied Bill Kuntz who's our other expert maintenance guy to give him a heads up. This could be a team effort as we all have played well together during park improvements.
