OLD BUSINESS:
Ms. Wehking reported that long time Cape Canaveral Library volunteer Jim Brown passed away
last week. The Library staff sent a condolence card.
NEW BUSINESS:
The city presented Mr. Weisfeldt with a Certificate of Appreciation for his volunteer work.
Ms. Atwood suggested that the Board send a thank you letter to the city for recognizing the
Library Board, and also thanking them for all their support. Ms. Zyhowski and Ms. Atwood will
draft the letter.
Ms. Wehking stated that the issue of the meeting room use was settled before the meeting. There
will need to be a new agreement drawn up between the county and city.
Ms. Wehking had questions about the city budget published in the weekly update, specifically
the invested funds that the city has listed. Ms. Nicholas requested the designation and usability
of these invested funds from Mr. Vergara. At the moment, all the city taxes go to books and
insurance for the Library. When asked if there was money to expand the library, Mr. Vergara
said the county would have to put in that request.
Mr. Moe, Ms. Atwood, and Ms. Ernst's terms on the Library Advisory Board expire in October
this year. The city will send a letter asking if they wish to continue their service.
Ms. Nicholas requested a copy of the County Library Advisory Board Friends of the Library

everyone.
