The City has reviewed its Comprehensive Plan and determined that no amendments are necessary to reflect changes in state requirements in Chapter 163, Part II, F.S., since the City's last update adopted in October of 2010. The principal reason for this determination is that the City continually monitors state requirements for purposes of has recently transmitted and/or adopted updates to its Comprehensive Plan to reflect changes in Florida statutes. For example, City Ordinance No. 10-2017, an amendment to the City of Cape Canaveral Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Element to establish policies related to reducing flood risks in coastal areas, was recently transmitted to the DEO for its review. In summary, the City has determined that its Comprehensive Plan — including transmitted amendments — is in compliance with Chapter 163, Part II, F.S. and that no amendments are needed to reflect changes in state requirements.
