Comment cards do get reported at the directors meeting and sometimes are included in the Brevard County monthly newsletter. The latest programs have included a Presidential Election Discussion event on November 5th,the Ghost Talk on Halloween, City Council Meet and Greet and the Monster Mash, all of which have been big successes. Jack Lane will be here December 10th presenting "Images of Florida". The Computer ABC's class led by Josh Supemant was also a big hit. The Book Club has started up again after a 2 month hiatus. A Volunteer Bruncheon has been scheduled for November 17d', 10 am — I pm to thank the volunteers for all of their help and support. The staff will be having a holiday dinner on December 100. The Holiday Open House date is still up in the air. It was going to be the 121, and the music is still scheduled, however some of the staff has other appointments that day. It will be discussed tonight. The city installed 2 free electric car chargers in the library parking lot. Ms. Wehking will be checking the library electric bill as the city had to hook the chargers directly up to the library power. The World's Only Electric Corvette was here last weekend and utilized the charger. Mr. Vergara noted that Light Up Cape Canaveral will take place on December 3`d at the Xeriscape Park. More LED spotlights are being used, so it should be a great show. A musical group and the Surfside players will be there. The February Art Show will be held at the library, and the Student Art Show has had a great deal more teachers and artists signing up than usual. Ms. Nicholas reported that the Space Coast Art Festival has been canceled for this year. They are entering a 5 year agreement with the City of Cape Canaveral to hold the Art Festival at Manatee Park starting next year. 3. Friends of the Library Report Ms. Wehking reported that the Friends of the Library have just under$25,000 in checking; 3 CD's, 1 of which is due 11/29/16 for$7,000. They have 3 outstanding checks totaling $450.00. Friends of the Library are investigating donating a digital sign at the library. This would be an LED sign with software on computers in the library so we could more easily change the events advertised. The city would take possession and provide maintenance. The primary use would be for the library, however some city events would be advertised. Ms. Deck would like the board's opinion. Mr. Vergara suggested checking with Kiwanis Island Recreation Center for vendors as they just got a new sign. Splitting the cost with the city was discussed. It would require going to the city council for approval, having specific specifications, getting 3 bids, etc. No estimates have been received yet. Mr. Vergara did mention waiving the permit fees if the Friends of the Library paid for the entire sign. Wayfinding signage on AIA was brought up and Mr. Vergara mentioned that all of Polk Avenue plus some of the areas facing AIA were going to be re- developed, and that included new signs pointing to the library.
