NOTICE OF PENDING ORDINANCE
The City of Cape Canaveral Planning & Development Department is
currently working with its professional planning consultants to prepare a
zoning overlay district for the City's AlA area from Port of Canaveral in the
North to Canaveral River area in the South, and Eastward to North Atlantic
Avenue. This zoning overlay district will generally regulate the types of
development permitted within the overlay zone, provide for architectural
design standards, and support the development of businesses and services
desired by residents and visitors of the City.
The Planning & Development Director advised the City's Planning &
Zoning Board of the City's efforts to coordinate the creation of the AlA
overlay zoning district during the July 27, 2011 Planning & Zoning Board
meeting.
You are hereby advised that any building permit or other application related
to development located within the proposed AlA overlay zoning district
submitted after July 27, 2011 shall be subject to the pending ordinance
currently being prepared by the City's consultants, attorneys and City staff,
at such time the Ordinance is adopted by the City Council at a duly noticed
public hearing.
