HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2016-22 RESOLUTION NO. 2016-22 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA; APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD AND LIBRARY BOARD OF THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF PRIOR INCONSISTENT RESOLUTIONS; SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, has by City Code Section 2-256 established a Board known as the Code Enforcement Board; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida, has by City Code Section 46-26 established a Board known as the Library Board; and WHEREAS, it is now incumbent upon the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral to appoint Members to said Boards. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAPE CANAVERAL, BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Recitals. The foregoing recitals are deemed true and correct and are hereby incorporated herein by this reference as a material part of this Resolution. Section 2. Appointment to City Advisory Boards pursuant to Section 2-171(e) of the Cape Canaveral City Code,the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral hereby appoints the following individuals to the Boards indicated below: Paula Collins shall be appointed to the Code Enforcement Board, to serve until October 1, 2019. Therese Zyhowski shall be appointed to the Library Board, to serve until October 1, 2019. Following the completion of their first terms, these appointees shall be eligible for reappointment to their respective boards for one additional term, consistent with the limitations set forth in section 2-171(f),City Code. Section 3. Repeal of Prior Inconsistent Resolutions. All prior resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of the conflict. Section 4. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause,phrase, word, or portion of this Resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion hereto. Effective Date.This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption by the City Council of the City of Cape Canaveral, Florida.
