HomeMy WebLinkAboutRE Plans for Oak Lane (4)Good afternoon Kathryn. Brian and I spoke about your visit earlier today (October 3rd) and that you have questions regarding the proposed Oak Lane improvements. Hopefully I can add some value. The City Engineer (John Pekar) is in the process of completing a set of review/preliminary drawings for the improvement of Oak Lane. The drawings are being reviewed by City Public Works Staff. The apparent boundary lines were used for this project. This effort only includes existing City right-of-way as indicated by a review of recorded property deeds. This does not include the expansion of the existing Oak Lane right-of-way. The improvements to Oak Lane are not budgeted. Also, I have forwarded your email to Mia Goforth, the City Clerk, to respond to your public record request. Let me know if there is anything else that you need. Thanks. I stopped by the offices of the City today to inquire about plans for Oak Lane. I saw a realtor.com <http://realtor.com/> listing for the property at the end of Oak LN. One of its lines says: “Entrance road ( Oak Lane) has planned improvements and streetscape in place through the city of Cape Canaveral.” I spoke with Brian Palmer at the city offices and read this description to him . He said he was unaware of anything in writing , and he called you on the phone, and relayed your response, which was that there was nothing in writing or to see at this time. He explained that the process is that a contractor can make such plans and then the city reviews them. Brian Palmer said that perhaps a contractor with the name of John Picar ( if I heard that correctly) might be working on such plans. I realize that I was probably not precise enough in what I was asking, so here are my additional questions. Is there a contractor currently working on such plans? If so, what is his name? Who has hired him to do so? Has the City hired a person or tasked a person within city staff to assess options for the road? These options could include the following: preliminary engineering plans, improvements, streetscape, sidewalks, reclaimed water, paving, and other options. I would like to have a copy of any correspondence with any person or entity regarding the development of Oak Lane. Thank you for your help with matter.
