THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE OWNER AS LISTED BELOW AND FIELD VERIFY LOCATIONS AND ELEVATIONS OF UTILITIES AT LEAST 72 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF WORK. THE EXISTING UTILITIES SHOWN ARE APPROXIMATE LOCATIONS AND SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS BEING ALL INCLUSIVE OF UTILITIES IN THE AREA. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE ANY TEMPORARY FACILITIES NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN PLANT OPERATIONS. THE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (321) 868-1240 SHALL BE NOTIFIED 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF ANY POSSIBLE DISRUPTION OF PLANT OPERATIONS. 4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROJECT COMPLYING WITH APPLICABLE STATE WATER QUALITY STANDARDS DURING CONSTRUCTION AS SPECIFIED IN THE PERMITS. ALL WATER AND WIND EROSION SHALL BE MINIMIZED. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO IMPLEMENT CONTROL MEASURES NOT SHOWN IN SPECIFICATIONS, ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH TURBIDITY CONTROL AND SEDIMENT STABILIZATION SHALL BE BORNE BY THE CONTRACTOR. 5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE ALL MEASURES NECESSARY TO CONTROL TURBIDITY INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE INSTALLATION OF TURBIDITY BARRIERS AT ALL LOCATIONS WHERE THE POSSIBILITY OF TRANSFERRING SUSPENDED SOLIDS INTO THE RECEIVING WATER BODY EXISTS DUE TO THE PROPOSED WORK. TURBIDITY BARRIERS MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL LOCATIONS UNTIL CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED AND DISTURBED SOIL AREAS ARE STABILIZED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REMOVING THE BARRIERS. AT NO TIME SHALL THERE BE ANY OFF-SITE DISCHARGE WHICH VIOLATES THE WATER QUALITY STANDARDS IN CHAPTER 62-302 AND 62-4, FLORIDA ADMINISTRATIVE CODE. 6. THE DRAWINGS DEPICT THE APPROXIMATE LOCATION OF EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES, WHICH WERE DETERMINED FROM RECORD DRAWINGS (JUNE 1995 CONFORMED SET, WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT IMPROVEMENTS) THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THE EXACT HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL LOCATION OF EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES IN THE AREA OF CONSTRUCTION PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH THE WORK. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE ALL NECESSARY ARRANGEMENTS AND PAY ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE TEMPORARY RELOCATION, SUPPORT, MONITORING, PROTECTION, OR OTHER INTERACTION WITH THE UTILITY FEATURES WHICH MIGHT BE AFFECTED BY THE WORK. PROVIDE REQUIRED NOTICE TO OTHERS FOR SUCH WORK TO ALLOW THE PROJECT TO CONTINUE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT SCHEDULE. THE COST OF SUCH WORK SHALL BE INCORPORATED INTO THE VARIOUS ITEMS OF WORK REQUIRING AND RELATED TO SUCH RELOCATION, SUPPORT, MONITORING OR PROTECTION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY AND ALL DAMAGE WHICH MIGHT RESULT FROM HIS FAILURE TO EXACTLY LOCATE AND PROTECT ANY AND ALL UTILITIES, WHETHER ABOVE OR BELOW GRADE. ANY DAMAGE SHALL BE REPAIRED AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO OWNER. 7. ALL PIPING, VALVES, COATINGS, AND APPURTENANCES TO BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH CITY STANDARDS OR THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, WHICHEVER IS MORE STRINGENT. IN GENERAL, THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS INCORPORATE THE CITY STANDARDS THAT ARE APPLICABLE. HOWEVER, WHEN DISCREPANCIES ARISE BETWEEN THE USE OF CITY STANDARDS OR THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DEFER THE DECISION OF WHICH MATERIAL OR MANUFACTURER TO USE, TO THE ENGINEER OF RECORD. 8. PROVIDE A MINIMUM OF 3.0 FEET OF COVER OVER ALL PIPE TO BE INSTALLED ON THE PROJECT UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN. 9. SANITARY SEWER OR STORM SEWER SHALL BE LAID SO THE OUTSIDE OF THE WATER MAIN IS AT LEAST SIX (6) INCHES, AND PREFERABLY TWELVE (12) INCHES ABOVE OR AT LEAST TWELVE (12) INCHES BELOW THE OUTSIDE OF THE OTHER PIPELINE. HOWEVER, IT IS PREFERABLE TO LAY THE WATER MAIN ABOVE THE OTHER PIPELINE. 10. SEWER, WASTEWATER OR STORM WATER FORCE MAIN, OR PIPELINE CONVEYING RECLAIMED WATER SHALL BE LAID SO THE OUTSIDE OF THE WATER MAIN IS AT LEAST TWELVE (12) INCHES ABOVE OR BELOW THE OUTSIDE OF THE OTHER PIPELINE. HOWEVER, IT IS PREFERABLE TO LAY THE WATER MAIN ABOVE THE OTHER PIPELINE. 11. AT THE UTILITY CROSSINGS DESCRIBED ABOVE, ONE FULL LENGTH OF WATER MAIN PIPE SHALL BE CENTERED ABOVE OR BELOW THE OTHER PIPELINE SO THE WATER MAIN JOINTS WILL BE AS FAR AS POSSIBLE FROM THE OTHER PIPELINE. ALTERNATIVELY, AT SUCH CROSSINGS, THE PIPES SHALL BE ARRANGED SO THAT ALL WATER MAIN JOINTS WILL BE AT LEAST THREE (3) FEET FROM ALL JOINTS IN VACCUM-TYPE SANITARY SEWERS, STORM SEWERS, STORM WATER FORCE MAINS, OR PIPELINES CONVEYING RECLAIMED WATER, AND AT LEAST SIX (6) FEET FROM ALL JOINTS IN GRAVITY OR PRESSURE TYPE SANITARY SEWERS OR WASTEWATER FORCE MAINS. 12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PRESSURE TESTING OF PIPING PER SECTION 15144. 13. ALL BURIED DUCTILE IRON PIPING SHALL BE RESTRAINED JOINT, WITH MECHANICAL JOINTS AT EACH FITTING. 14. THE EXISTING TOPOGRAPHICAL FEATURES SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS WERE OBTAINED FROM GROUND SURVEY AND REPRESENT CONDITIONS AS THEY EXIST AS OF SEPTEMBER 2013. AS PART OF THE BID PROCESS, AND PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL EXAMINE THE SITE OF THE PROPOSED WORK AND MAKE ALL NECESSARY INVESTIGATIONS TO DEFINE THOROUGHLY ALL DIFFICULTIES INVOLVED IN THE COMPLETION OF ALL WORK REQUIRED PURSUANT TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. 15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT ADVERSELY IMPACT DRAINAGE SYSTEMS DURING CONSTRUCTION. TEMPORARILY RECONFIGURE THE DRAINAGE SYSTEMS, WHICH MIGHT BE IMPACTED BY CONSTRUCTION AS THE WORK PROCEEDS, TO NOT CAUSE ADVERSE IMPACTS TO SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE EFFICIENCY. DO NOT IMPAIR SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE CAPACITY. 16. MAINTAIN ACCESS FOR CHEMICAL DELIVERY TRUCKS, CITY EMPLOYEES, AND MAINTENANCE VEHICLES TO ALL EXISTING PLANT OPERATIONS DURING CONSTRUCTION. 17. ALL SOIL COMPACTION, ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS, AND ALL OTHER SITE CIVIL WORK TO BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH CITY STANDARDS OR THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, WHICHEVER IS MORE STRINGENT. 18. PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE EXISTING CONCRETE SIDEWALKS NOT INTENDED TO BE REMOVED DURING CONSTRUCTION. ALL DAMAGED SIDEWALKS SHALL BE RESTORED TO ORIGINAL CONDITION OR BETTER. NOT ALL SIDEWALKS ARE SHOWN. 19. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MATERIALS TESTING USING AN INDEPENDENT TESTING LABORATORY, APPROVED BY THE OWNER. RESTORE ALL PROPERTY AND INFRASTRUCTURE (INCLUDING UTILITIES, SIDEWALKS, CURBING, ROADS, GRASSING, CULVERTS, HEADWALLS, FENCING, STORM DRAIN INLETS, AND OTHER EXISTING COMPONENTS OF THE SITE) DISTURBED BY CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS TO THE CONDITIONS WHICH EXISTED PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. THE COST OF SUCH RESTORATION SHALL BE INCLUDED IN THE BID. 22. SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS AND CURBING DAMAGED OR REMOVED DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE REPLACED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS. SIDEWALKS REMOVED AND REPLACED IN CURB GUTTER AREAS AT INTERSECTIONS SHALL HAVE HANDICAP RAMPS INSTALLED.
