2. COPIES OF BIDDING DOCUMENTS
2.1 Complete sets of Bidding Documents (on CD) may be obtained free of charge from the City of Cape Canaveral City Clerk’s Office located at 105 Polk Avenue, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920.
17. TAXES – OWNER EXEMPTION FROM STATE OF FLORIDA SALES TAXES
17.1 The Contractor, his subcontractors, and all materialmen shall cooperate in every respect and shall perform all acts and shall execute all documentation necessary to allow the Owner
to receive credit for all purchases for the State of Florida sales tax if the Owner chooses to do so. The Contractor acknowledges that the Owner is exempt from State of Florida sales
taxes. The Contractor shall implement procedures to enable the sales tax exemption be obtained by the Owner and shall require the fuller cooperation of each of its subcontractors and
materialmen in this regard. The Contractor shall require that the contractual provision be placed within each of the subcontractor’s agreements which it hereafter enters into for the
completion of the Project assuring to the Owner that it shall not pay Florida State sales tax for the Project.
17.2 The Schedule of Values shall breakdown the bid price in an organized manner to conform to the technical Specification Index. Include cost of all required building permits, fees,
premiums, bonds, etc.
17.3 When the Owner seeks exemption from the Florida State sales tax, the Schedule of Values shall have a column added separating the material and building equipment cost from other
costs for each line item.
17.4 The Engineer may require a rough draft of the proposed application to review with the Contractor prior to submitting the final submittal.
26. PRE-BID CONFERENCE (MANDATORY)
26.1 A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the City of Cape Canaveral Public Works Services Facility, 601 Thurm Boulevard, Cape Canaveral, Florida at ____, P.M., ________, 2015.
All prospective bidders in attendance will be required to sign in at the beginning of the meeting. Bids will only be accepted from bidders who have a representative of their organization
attend the pre bid meeting. Representatives of the Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the Project. Engineer will transmit to all prospective Bidders of record such Addenda
as Engineer considers necessary in response to questions arising at the conference.
Oral statements made by the Engineer or Owner may not be relied upon and will not be binding or legally effective.
