The following is also an item -by -item response to each of the comments and condition: Development Comments: 1. Revise Note 6 on page L-1 to reflect that the caliper of the tree will be measured at 4 and h feet above grade not 6 inches as indicated. Response: Note 6 is revised to state "caliper of trees shall be measured at 4.5' above root ball. All trees shall be installed in an upright position. Caliper of trees shall take precedence over height or spread". Please refer to Sheet L-1. 2. 1 would encourage you to include a minimum of 4 bike spaces (currently 2) and relocate to somewhere near the Live Oak southeast of the building. The current location appears to be in an area of potential conflict with autos coming into and out of the site. Response: The location of the bicycle spaces has been shifted to the east and is no longer directly adjacent to the drive aisles. An additional 4 bicycle spaces have been added for a total of 6 bicycle spaces. The following note has been added to the plan "6 bicycle parking spaces shall be provided per the City of Cape Canaveral Planning and Zoning Board Condition of Approval dated July 13, 2016". Please refer to Sheet C-5. 3. Secs. 110-567 and 110-687 are the relevant sections dealing with tree planting. Section 567 contains the City's parking lot tree planting requirements while Section 687 contains the perimeter planting requirements for the entire project. The total trees needed to meet the City's planting requirement will depend on what size (small/med/large) trees you go with. The 5 pt. and 10 pt. trees for the parking lot are described in the table in Sec. 110-567 (b). a) Sec. 567 requires a 5 pt. tree for every 5 spaces and a 10 pt. tree at the end of each parking row. I have calculated that this results in 6, 5 pt. trees and 8, 10 pt. trees for a total of 14 trees associated with the parking lot. Response: Sheet L-1 is revised to depict the six (6) 5 Pt. trees and eight (8) 10 Pt. trees provided to meet the City's requirements for parking lot landscaping. The Landscape Calculations have also been revised. Per your e-mail correspondence on July 22, 2016, the landscaping is acceptable as shown. b) Sec. 687 requires 1 large or medium tree for every 25 feet of linear property length or 1 small tree or palm for every 15 feet of linear property length. I calculate this to result in either 34 large/medium trees or 56 small/palm trees. The perimeter boundary is 850 feet. I did not include the retention pond for purposes of this calculation. Response: Per your discussion with Rick Abt from our office, the perimeter landscaping calculation is revised to subtract the proposed 28 Ft. and 26 Ft. driveways from the total 850 Ft. perimeter boundary. The landscaping provided has been revised to show 20 small palm trees at 15 LF and 20 large/medium trees at 25 LF for a total of 800 LF perimeter landscaping. Per your e-mail correspondence on July 22, 2016, the landscaping is acceptable as shown. Planning and Zoning Condition of Approval: 1. Recommend approval with Staff's recommendation for a total of six (6) bicycle parking spaces. Response: An additional 4 bicycle spaces have been added for a total of 6 bicycle spaces. The following note has been added to the plan "6 bicycle parking spaces shall be provided per the City of Cape Canaveral Planning and Zoning Board Condition of Approval dated July 13, 2016".
