ADVISORY BOARD
Meeting Minutes June 11, 2015
A meeting of the Cape Canaveral Public Library Advisory Board was held on June 11, 2015, at the library.
The meeting was called to order by Co-Chairperson Marilyn Nicholas at 2:00 pm.

Co-Chairperson Marilyn Nicholas asked if there was any public participation. Response: None
1. Approval of Minutes of March 12 2015
A motion was made Joanna Atwood, seconded by Mary Ernst to approve the board minutes of March 11,
2015 as presented. Vote on the motion carried unanimously.
2. Staff Reports
Director's Report
o The Friends of the Cape Canaveral Library has will launch its summer Reading BINGO
program; reading BINGO for Teens and reading BINGO for Adults. All books must be
started after June 1, 2015 and completed by August 31, 2015.
o Only one book can be counted on only one square.
o Prizes for the Reading BINGO program are:
• Fill in one square, you will receive a mood pencil
■ Win Bingo with 5 down or across or diagonal you will receive a raffle ticket for the
chance at the grand prize-a $50 gift certificate from Barnes and Noble
o The library has installed some new shelving which will be used for the DVDs
o Library pretty much on target with the budget
o Adult programs will begin in November, end in March and will be held on the 3`a Thursday of
each month.
• FRIENDS of the Library Report
o Checking account balance just under$29,000; income this year is just under$10,000
($9,900); expenses$4,300 to date and the biggest expense was the blinds FRIENDS
purchased for the library
o Lobby Sale in April did very well -$1,500
o Bag Sale will be held in August(14 1h& 151h)
o There will also be the annual December sale
o No other sales are planned for this year

The next regular meeting for the board will be Thursday, October 29, 2015.
• ADJOURMENT:
There being no further business before the Board, a motion was made by Joanna Atwood and seconded
by Evelin Reid to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned at 3.10 pm.

The next Cape Canaveral Library Board meeting will take place on Thursday, October 29, 2015 and the next Brevard
County Library Board meetings will take place on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 4:30 pm at the Melbourne
Public Library, 540 E Fee Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32901.. There will not be a Brevard County Library Board meeting
in October or December 2015.
