Meeting called to order at 10 am
Present: Hilma Goff, Chairman
Ernestine Butte, Secretary
Beryl Rogers, Board Member

Guests: Mrs. Stewart & Mrs. Pelham, County coordinator's office
November 9, 1976 Board meeting minutes read and approved.
Directros report read and approved.
The meeting was open discussion, questions and answeres regarding vacancy
on board, selling old copier, confidentiality lists, library lounge,
IBM copier, staff questions, circulation re: resident and non-resident.
Director read first audit - approved.
Meeting adjourned.

CAPE CANAVERAL LIBRARY BOARD MEETING
February 8, 1977
Meeting called to order at 10 AM by Chairman Goff.
Present, Chairman Goff, Berle Rogers and Ernestine Butte. The Librarian,
Irene Saunders and a visitor, Mrs. Greta Stochen. Absent Ginger Rose.
Mrs. goff advised there were no typed minutes form the last meeting due
to the absence of the secretary but gave the verbal highlights from the
tape she had reviewed. No action required as no motions were made.
Letters received from Sam Scogna and Frank MacClay requesting appointment
to fill the Library Board Vacancy. No action taken until after Cape
Canaveral New Letter has been published to see if any more were received.
The Librarian reported Fines of $386.95 and a circulation increase of 854
and announced a lecture on metaphysics by Barry Lanter on February 2 at 7pm
Ernestine Butte moved the Librarian's report be approved, seconded and carried.
Chairm Goff announced an orientation meeting for all Board members on
Thursday, February 10th at 8 PM in the County Coordinators office at the
Merritt Island Court House. All members urged to attend.
Ernestine Butte moved the by-laws be accepted and approved. Seconded and carried.
Mrs. Sanders advised the budget was ready for presentation. Upon our approval
including an across the board 5% increase from last year. $46,685 to $49,.091.
Ernestien Butte moved the budget be approved - seconded and carried.

County Library Board will meet Thursday, March 17, 1977
at 8 PM at the Cocoa Beach Library
of the Jan 11th and Feb 8th meetings were read by B. Rogers,
acting Sect were appoved and accepted.

Mrs. Sanders reported 5 additional bottles of toner was voted
they be sent to Rec. Director.
Letter from Mrs. Holson of Meadowland Library re: source of
motor annuals from 4 major manuafacturers
Mrs. Goo mentioned availability of free pamphlets of shell
oil co.
Mrs. Sanders will write companies for information.
New book listings will be continued - put on new book/fl stack
Progress on staff lounge; walls need to be done.
Ann thurm will donate paint. City maintenance men will apply it 1st rainy day.
At the request of Mrs. Goff, mention of councilwoman Ann thurms' cooperation
with the library board be put on record - it is greatly appreciated.
Funds and services from Fed Grants, 1976-77 will be allocated at the March
17th meeting of the county library board.
$700 has been approved for films, large print books, records and childrens
summer program

Library Director appeared on locat TV children's program. Cape Canaveral
Library has $1015.14 on deposit in Cape Canaveral Bank
Report was approved and accepted.

Applicants for vacancy on the Cape Canaveral Library Board
will be interviewed before the April meeting. will be voted on at
the April meeting.
Taping of the Library board meetings was discussed.
was voted to retain tapes for 1 year - others to be erased
and reused.
Censorship of periodicals and books discussed - also use of
juvenile and adult library cards.
Purchase of large print books was discussed
money to buy is included in Fed. Funding
Cape Canaveral Library has no call for these at this time
Exception: may Cape Canaveral Library use this money for some
other Sr. Cit Material?
was referred to the County's Coordinator's office.
Inter-staff problem was introduced by Library Director.
Complete confidence in Library Director was voted.

CAPE CANAVERAL LIBRARY BOARD
Minutes of Regular Meeting
June 14, 1977
Mrs. H. Goff, Chairman, called the meeting ot order at 10 AM Present were
Mrs. Goff, Ginger Rose, Beryl Rogers, Ernestine Butte, Irene Sanders, Library
Director and Bobby Pelham from the coordinators office. Absent, Mrs. Swartz,
newly appointed Director.
Minutes of the May meeting were read and approved as read.
Director Sanders reported that ne new books had been ordered, 102 receive new,
donation of 30. New records 46. Patorns expired 82, new patrons 75. Monies
to county of $250. Balance of $1015.14 in our account with City of Cape Canaveral
Expenses for Tampa meeting of $64.76 wer paid out of the check
for $75 received from the sale of the Harvard classics with the balance
going into petty cash.
Mrs. Rogers moved the budget be accepted - seconded and carried.
Mrs. Rogers moved the Director get bids on Certificates of Appreciation from
printers and that she be authorized to order the number needed from the lowest
bidder - seconded and carried.
Mrs. Sanders advised the follwing items of furnishings for the library had been
requisitioned to be paid from our fines and fees monies; periodical displayer,
record browser, executive chair, 2 drawer lock file, 4 - 2 drawer 3.5 card
cabinets, 2 Tiffany typewriter stands, 1 desk lamp and 1 calcualtor with tape.
The estimated cost of the above to be 1217 leaving a balance in our fines and
fees account of approximately $400-500.
Mrs. Rose moved the City of Cape Canaveral be requested to turn our Library
money of $1015.14 over to the boarrd and that it be deposited in a savings
account to enable the accrual of interst. Bank to be determined by amount
of interest on an account with free withdrawl priveleges, seconded and carried.
Ernestine Butte moved the monies be put into the bank as soon as received
from the city with signature cards carrying the signature of the current
chairman and secrtary of the Library Board - seconded and carried.
Ernestine Butte moved the July and August meetings be cancelled, seconded
and carried.
Mrs. Rogers moved the meeting date be changed from 2nd Tuesday of each month
to the second Wednesday to begin with the September meetin which would be
September 14, 1977 - seconded and carried.
Mrs. Rose moved the City Police Force be requested to have a car at the library
for the protection of the girls leaving Monday thru Thursday aft 9 PM, 2nd and
carried.
