JULY 13, 1976
The regular monthly meeting of the Cape Canaveral Library Board was called to order at 10 AM
by Mrs. Ginger Rose, Chairman. Present were, Mrs. Goff, Mrs. Rose and Mrs. Butte of the
board. Mrs. Sanders librarian, Mrs. Pelham and candidates for the vacancy on the board,
Mr. Terry Quatise, Garrett Cahney and Martha J. Woliver.
The minutes were read and approved as read. Mr. Balough arriving during the reading.
Mrs. unreadable read the Librarian report and showed a balance of cash on hand of $1,300.70.
Also correspondence consisting of Mrs. Quatsies letter volunteering to serve on the Library.
Board.
Mrs. Goff reported on her attendance of the Chairmans unreadalbe in behalf of our chairman.
Mrs. Pelham invitied all the unreadable to come to the Board of County Commissioners
meeting in titusville Court House on Thursday, April 15th at 9AM ad the report on Merit
Committee would to taken up on their agenda. Mrs. Sanders and Mrs. Goff indicated they would
try to attend.
Mrs. Rose announced the County Library Board Meeting to be held at the Merritt Island Court
House on Thursday, April 15th at 8:00 PM
Mrs. Sanders requested any member receiving a complaint against her staff please notify her
and Mrs. Steward, were the complaints against her.
Mr. Goff said she had nothing to report from the Friends of the Library. Except Mrs. unreadable
has the material for the draping and is working on them, but will call and get a current unreadable
report. That only 5 were present at last meeting to hear Mr. Sylvester Rose.
Mrs. sanders advised a lady from the Retirees group had been hired an will work 20 hours
a week at not cost to the Library.
Mrs. Butte moved all plans for further floor graphics, or whatever be held in abeyance for
the present. Seconded and carried.
Mrs. Sanders was asked to contact the Cocoa unreadable Jr. Womans club about an offer made last year
to do some bicentennial theme for the library.
Meeting adjourned at 10:40AM

resumed at 10:55 AM
Mr. Balough moved Mrs. Quatsie be recommended to City Council to fill the vacancy on the
Library Board, Seconded and carried.

CAPE CANAVERAL LIBRARY BOARD MEETING
MAY 11, 1976
The regular monthly meeting of the Cape Canaveral Library Board was called to roder at
10:05 AM by Mrs. Ginger Rose, Chairman. Present were Mrs. Goff, Mrs. Rose, Mrs. Butte and
Mr. Balough of the board, Mrs. Sanders, Librarian and Mrs. Kathryn Stewart, County
Coordinator.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Mrs. Goff reported on the meeting of the Friends of the Library advising they had voted
to disband meetings for the summer months.
Correspondence read - no action necessary.
Mrs. Sanders read the Librarians report advising new books ordered in April were 147 and
new books on shelf for April were 156. Balance cash on hand $1255.14 and bill from County
of $35 not yet received.
Mrs. Terry Quatsie arrived and was welcomed as a new member to the Board bya ll.
Mrs. Butte moved the Library Board, in line with a notion by Mrs. Thurm to the city Council
regarding our copying machine, be donated to the County - seconded and carried.
Mrs. Butte moved we authorize Mrs. Stewart to rent a copying machine for the Cape Canaveral
Library. Seconded and carried.
Meetings; Chairmans meeting - 8 PM Thursday May 14th - Merritt Island Court House
County Board Meeting - 8 PM Friday May 21st - Eau Gallie Public Library
Gaylord Circulation Central Demonstration 2 PM and 7 PM us1 Quality Court Hotel
Mr. Balough requested Librarian type a list of new books received each month and have
available at the desk for patrons.
Mrs. Goff requested chairman to arrange for a substitute to attend meetings she was unable
to attend in advance so they would be covered by someone on the board where possible.
Mrs. Rose requested Mrs. Goff ateend the charimans Meeting on May 14th in her place.
Mrs. Stewart advised the policies and procedures report would be in the hands of the
board for their recommendations at next meeting.

CAPE CANAVERAL LIBRARY BOARD MEETING
June 15, 1976
Meeting called to order at 10 am by Chairman Ginger Rose with Mr. Balough,
Mrs. Butte, Goff, Rose and Sanders present.
Mr. Balough requested the New Book list be prominently displayed so all can
readily see it.
Librarian, Mrs. Sanders, advised we had received 143 new books, 33 LP Record
unreadable. Balance of cash on hand $1255.14. Fines to County $127.46. The
cost for the new copying machine will be $121.85 per month and the cost
will have to come out of contingency fund over and above fines and fees monies
after we hit our base.
A letter of resignation was read from Mrs. Quatsie due to illness of her husband.
Chairman Rose requested librarian send card to Dr. Quatsie who is in CC Hospital.
Mrs. Sanders requested volunteers for a doz cup cakes at end of summer reading
program - end of Augus for a small party for the youngsters.
Since Mrs. Sanders will be away from June 26th to July 6th and Mrs. Rose will be away
for the summer and possibly others on the bord will be away on vacation
Ernestine Butte moved the July and August meetings be dispersed with unless the Librarian
on her return finds it necessary to call a special meeting - seconded and carried.

CAPE CANAVERAL LIBRARY BOARD MEETING
October 12, 1976
Meeting called to order at 10 am by Chairman Ginger Rose with Mr. Balough,
Mrs. Butte, Goff, Rose, Rogers and Sanders present.
Mrs. Rogers introduced and welcomed to the board as its newest member.
Librarian, Mrs. Sanders reported a total of 318 new books had been added since
the last meeting and 1387 had been taken in on the copying machine. Also that
unreadable was held for 85 children in august with refreshments and prizes.
unreadable Mrs. Butte reported she had contacted unreadable who was to try to work
unreadable for land donation for Library site and that Councilman Salvaggio was
unreadable to contact unreadable Swarts of Jai Alai for some possible contribution.
Unreadable Butte nominated Mrs. Goff for chairman, 2nd and carried.
Mrs. Goff nominated Ernestine Butte for Secretary, 2nd and carried.
Mrs. Goff alerted board members to be prepared at November to vote on a bonus
unreadable empolyees.
Ernestine Butte moved Mrs. Goff investigate the possibility of getting bonus
unreadable from our Library monies from City - seconded and carried.

LIBRARY BOARD MINUTES
NOV 9 1976
At the regualr monthly meeting of the Board, hold in the
Library, on Tuesday, Nov 9 1976, with chairperson Hilma Goff
presiding and Ginger Rose as acting secretary, the minutes of
October's meeting were read and approved. also present were
board members Beryl Rogers and Ed Balough, Librarian Irene
Sanders, and guests from the county office, Katchy Stewart and
Bobbie Pelham.
Following her librarian's report, Mrs. Sanders said she
had sent the requested names and addresses of all Board members
to the state library. Mr. Balough was thanked for his work on
an information direction sign to be placed at the intersection
of Astronaut Blvd and Hwy 401.
Mrs. Rose made a motion to provide Christmas bonuses for the
staff in lieu of any other consideration. The amounts seconded
and approved are as follows: Irene Sanders $100; Deborah
Guelzow and Debra Kjos $50 each" Wand Frazier $25; and
Lucy Wilson $15; for a total of $240. The cehcks are to be
disbursed by the Board Chairperson during the weeke before Christmas.
Mrs. Stewart made the board aware that the Florida Statutes concerning
bonuses was available for review by the Board, being Chapter 112.
Holidays for the month will be Nov 11, 25, 26 and 27.
The document policies and procedures is to be reviewed at
next month's meeting, with any comments to be given to Mrs. Stewart.
Also discussed were possible building funds, a public relations
person for the county library system and new informative pamphlets
being prepare by each library.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:10 AM
